Village Life masthead

One of the popular features of Village Life was Annalize Mouton's series of recipes from her Country Table. The dishes cover meals from soups through fish, poultry and stews to pancakes and desserts. Each of these was cooked, baked, broiled or roasted – and then thoroughly enjoyed by the Editors and friends! Most of the articles also trace the origins of dishes, such as for instance bredie and bobotie, or point out similarities between our traditional dishes and similar ones from other countries.


We have now compiled all the recipes in a handy e-book, with the material reformatted to be conveniently viewed on a desktop or laptop computer, or a tablet. It comprises 65 A4 landscape pages (the equivalent of 130 A5 pages), with all the full-colour photographs and type that is easy to read.
